The Story Behind Umbrella LGBTQ: A Vision for Inclusivity

The idea for Umbrella LGBTQ began in 2019, during the college years of Yogesh S., the future CEO of Quillix Ventures Private Limited. While studying in Singapore, he experienced online interactions that highlighted the challenges faced by LGBTQ+ individuals—misunderstandings, harassment, and a lack of safe digital spaces. Though not part of the community himself, he recognized the urgent need for an inclusive, secure platform where LGBTQ+ individuals could connect freely and without fear.

2021

From an Idea to Reality: The Birth of Quillix Ventures

In 2021, Yogesh co-founded Quillix Ventures alongside Jeel B. (CTO) and Nikhil K. (CFO), initially focusing on IT solutions like website development and consulting. However, his dream of creating a meaningful, impact-driven project never faded. By May 2023, the company expanded into digital marketing, further strengthening its foundation for future product innovations.

2023

Expansion and Evolution: Strengthening the Foundation

By May 2023, Quillix Ventures expanded its service portfolio to include digital marketing, branding, and growth strategies, further diversifying its expertise and strengthening its financial foundation for future projects. This expansion allowed the team to gain valuable insights into user engagement, online security, and digital community-building—all of which would later play a crucial role in developing Umbrella LGBTQ.

2024

Turning Vision into Reality: The Launch of Umbrella LGBTQ

In October 2024, after years of planning and refining his ideas, Yogesh finally shared his vision with the core team—a social media platform exclusively designed for LGBTQ+ individuals. Unlike traditional platforms, which often lack safeguards against online harassment and fail to cater to the unique needs of the LGBTQ+ community, Umbrella LGBTQ aimed to be different.
